Arianna Sabatino Named Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Both Sabatino Sisters Named Academic All-Centennial, Eight Shorewomen Land on Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington College senior midfielder Arianna Sabatino (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollows Hills West) has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In addition, she and twin sister Olivia Sabatino (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollows Hills West) have been named Academic All-Centennial Conference and are two of eight student-athletes from the Washington College women's soccer team to have qualified for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for fall sports.

In order to qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

Academic All-Centennial honors are bestowed upon student-athletes who are named All-Centennial Conference and earn a spot on the Academic Honor Roll in the same season. Earlier this month, Arianna Sabatino was named to the All-Centennial second team, while Olivia Sabatino was named an All-Centennial honorable mention. This is the third Academic All-Centennial honor for Arianna and second for Olivia. Both sisters are three time Academic Honor Roll qualifiers. The Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in each sport goes to the All-Centennial Conference selection with junior or senior standing with the highest cumulative grade-point average. Arianna's grade-point average currently stands at 3.946.

Joining the Sabatino sisters as three-time Academic Honor Roll qualifiers for the Shorewomen are seniors Courtney Colbert (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and Picabo French (Tustin, Calif./Orange Lutheran). Senior Lindsay Russell (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) and junior Tatiana Baughman (Worton, Md./Gunston School) both qualified for the Academic Honor Roll for the second time. Sophomores Annalie Buscarino (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) and Brenda Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Oceanside) were first-time qualifiers.

Four of the Shorewomen's eight Academic Honor Roll qualifiers have double majors. Baughman is majoring in Business Management in Art; Buscarino is majoring in Sociology and English; Colbert is majoring in Math and Computer Science; and French is majoring in Biology and Art. Arianna and Olivia Sabatino are both majoring in Biology, while Russell is majoring in Economics. Clark has yet to declare a major.
