GETTYSBURG, PA -- Host Gettysburg College blanked visiting Washington College, 7-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA.
The Bullets (5-2, 3-0 Centennial) took a 1-0 lead at 30:20 when Molly Phillips found Casey Attanasio for a goal from inside the box. Phillips scored a goal of her own at 41:11 off an assist from Suzy Englot to give Gettysburg a 2-0 advantage before halftime.
In the second half, Becca Kent pushed the advantage to 3-0 with a goal at 46:49 and Rachel West scored off an assist from Tara Crowley at 62:27 to make it 4-0. The Bullets got their fifth goal of the game at 69:13 as Crowley scored off an assist from Ashley Myles and their sixth goal at 74:01 as Brigid Behan scored on a rebound following a penalty kick. Behan tacked on Gettysburg's seventh goal off an assist from Lindsey Lyons at 86:08.
Gettysburg held a 42-4 advantage in shots in the game. Senior goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made 18 saves in the loss for the Shorewomen. Sophomore midfielder/forward Heather Smith (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) recorded two of Washington's four shots in the game.
The Shorewomen (1-5-1, 0-2-1) return to action Monday with a 4:30 p.m. game at Hood.
