CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Gettysburg College scored three times in the first half to post a 3-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer victory over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.
Suzy Englot put the Bullets (9-5, 4-2 Centennial) on the board with a goal from 30 yards out at 30:59, sending the ball into the upper-right hand corner of the goal off an assist from Sara Montague. The Bullets made it 2-0 at 17:05 when Casey Attanasio scored off a rebound of a shot by Mallory Sheer. Montague headed in Gettysburg's third goal off a long feed from Sarah Yeager at 40:31.
Junior goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made six saves in the loss for the Shorewomen. Gettysburg held a 15-5 advantage in shots and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks in the game.
The Shorewomen (4-7-1, 0-6) return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
