SHREWSBURY, Mass. — The 13th-ranked Washington College women's rowing team competed in an eight-team regatta on Lake Quinsigamond this morning. The other teams at the regatta included two other nationally-ranked teams in third-ranked host WPI and 12th-ranked Hamilton; the Shorewomen finished third behind those two schools in the grand final of the second varsity eight and placed fourth in the grand final of the first varsity eight.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen's first varsity eight was second in its heat to third-ranked WPI to advance to the grand final. WPI's winning heat time was 7:02.5, followed by the Shorewomen in 7:14.1, Simmons in 7:18.3, and Division II Assumption in 7:36.0.
- The Shorewomen's second varsity eight was also second in its heat to WPI. WPI's winning time in that heat was 7:27.3. The Shorewomen finished in 7:40.6, followed by Assumption in 8:04.77 and Johnson & Wales in 8:07.68.
- In the grand final of the second varsity eight, WPI posted a winning time of 7:34.8, followed by 12th-ranked Hamilton in second at 7:50.38. The Shorewomen's third-place time was 8:00.99; Mount Holyoke was fourth in 8:13.77.
- In the grand final of the first varsity eight - the final race of the morning - WPI won in 7:04.6, followed by Hamilton in second in 7:11.8. Mount Holyoke edged out the Shorewomen for third, finishing in 7:23.55 to Washington's 7:27.73.
