CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College women's rowing team took second place in the first varsity eight and varsity four and won the overall women's points trophy in the Washington College Invitational today on the Chester River.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen's first varsity eight placed second in its heat in 6:57.0 to advance to its grand final. Eighth-ranked Wellesley won the heat in 6:43.09, while St. Mary's was third in 7:17.97 and Bryn Mawr fourth in 726.62. The Shorewomen then took second in the grand final in 5:58.17. Wellesley won the grand final in 5:54.53, while Division I Saint Joseph's "A" was third in 6:04.99 and Saint Joseph's "B" was fourth in 6:08.84.
- The Shorewomen's second varsity eight placed second in 6:31.74 in its heat to advance to its grand final. Wellesley's fourth varsity eight won the heat in 6:30.06. Catholic was third in 6:36.14 and Saint Joseph's third varsity eight was fourth in 6:39.00. The Shorewomen were then third in the grand final in 6:21.17. Wellesley's third varsity eight won the race in 6:15.74, their second varsity eight was second in 6:18.78, and their fourth varsity eight was fourth in 6:38.06.
- The Shorewomen's varsity four was second in its four-boat race in 7:09.36. Saint Joseph's "A" was first in 6:51.51, Catholic third in 7:21.04, and Franklin & Marshall fourth in 7:26.03.

- The Shorewomen finished with 117 points, four more than second-place Wellesley. (Teams with multiple entries in one event only received points for the first entry). Saint Joseph's finished with 111 points in third place.
