    The seventh-ranked Washington College women’s rowing team competed in the first, second, and third varsity eights at the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships today on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The Shorewomen placed fourth in the petite final of the first varsity eight to capture 10th place out of 21 boats overall in the event.

The Shorewomen finished with 38 total points to Marietta’s 37. Bryn Mawr (30), Franklin & Marshall (25), and North Park (20) rounded out the top five.

    The fifth-ranked Washington College women's rowing team opened its spring racing season this morning on the Chester River against third-ranked Wellesley College. The teams' first and second varsity eights raced on a course shortened to 1,500 meters due to a moderate to strong crosswind and a snow squall. The Shorewomen's first varsity eight won the race.

    The Washington College women's rowing team will not be traveling to Philadelphia this Saturday to compete in a regatta against Division I schools Saint Joseph's, Delaware, Drexel, and La Salle. The regatta has not yet been officially canceled, but the course on the Schuylkill River was still frozen as of Wednesday morning.
