Six Land on MARC Academic Honor Roll
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College senior women's rowers Ericka Malow (Brunswick, OH/Brunswick) and Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) have been named to the All Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) varsity team. Freshman Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) has been named to the All-MARC novice team. In addition, six Shorewomen earned spots on the MARC Academic Honor Roll.
Malow, a repeat All-MARC selection, sat stroke in the Shorewomen's varsity eight, which finished third at Saturday's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships. Smith sat in the six seat of the same boat. Fiori sat in the seven seat of the Shorewomen's winning second varsity eight on Saturday.
Malow joined senior Krista Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest), junior Christine Lynch (Lincoln University, PA/Avon Grove), sophomore Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest), sophomore Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge), and sophomore Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) on the Academic Honor Roll. Malow, Krista Jensen, and Lynch each earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll for the second straight year.
The All-MARC teams were selected based upon nominations by the student-athletes' respective head coaches. To qualify for the MARC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must a) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, b) be in their second, third, or fourth year of eligibility, and c) must have competed in 75% of the varsity competitions or competed in the MARC Championships.
