Down Roadrunners 2-1 and Blank Pride 2-0
KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Washington College softball team clinched a winning week at the Rebel Spring Games in a pair of non-conference softball games on Thursday. The Shorewomen won their first game of the day against Ramapo, 2-1, and then shut out Springfield in the second game of the day, 2-0. WC is now 6-2 in Florida this week with two games to go tomorrow.

How It Happened
-The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead in the last of the second inning when Grace Brennan came home on a wild pitch with two outs.
-Washington tied it in the top half of the third when Clare Hofstedt scored on a muffed throw by the Ramapo defense just after the second out had been recorded.
-Elaina DiPrimio gave Washington a 2-1 lead when she scored on a dropped pop up by Ramapo with one away in the top of the sixth.
-In the bottom of the seventh, Ramapo had runners on first and third with nobody out. Shorewomen pitcher Taylor Harcum struck out Danielle Saporito swinging for the first out and then on a squeeze bunt chance by Christina Brizik, Harcum got her to pop it up to herself for the second out. After Harcum hit Melissa Moreno to load the bases, Harcum got Melanie Walling to fly out to Paige Briganti in center to end the game as Briganti did not have to move to snag the last out and the Shorewomen come away with the one run win.
For The Shorewomen (6-7)
-Hitting: Hofstedt (2-for-3, triple, run)
-Pitching: Maddie Bennett (win 3-0, six-plus innings, four hits, one run, three walks, one strikeout, Harcum (save 1, one inning, one strikeout)
-Washington had four hits in the win and in the field committed one error.
For Ramapo (4-5)
-Hitting: Harper Patsko (2-for-2, walk)
-Pitching: Katrina Buczkowski (loss 1-3, complete game, two runs, none earned, four hits, six strikeouts, no walks)
-The Roadrunners had four hits in the game, worked out three walks and were hit by a pitch on two occasions.
-Ramapo had four errors in the game and led to both of Washington's runs.
-The Shorewomen won both games against Ramapo this week, winning 5-1 on Sunday.

How It Happened
-The Shorewomen would take the lead in the last of the fourth inning when Hofstedt stole home with one out after she led off the frame with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt.
-In the bottom of the fifth, Hofstedt plated Meredith Maynard with a two-out single to left field for an insurance run. Maynard led off the inning with a double to right field.
For The Shorewomen (7-7)
-Hitting: Hofstedt (2-for-3, RBI, run)
-Pitching: Harcum (win 3-5, complete game shutout, seven hits, no walks, two strikeouts)
-The Shorewomen had five hits in the win and did not commit an error.
For Springfield (5-3)
-Hitting: Seven different players got a hit for the Pride.
-Pitching: Talia Loda (loss 2-2, complete game, five hits, two earned runs, two strikeouts, no walks)
-The Pride had seven hits and had one error in the field.
-First career shutout for Harcum in the win.
-There were zero walks in the game.
