    The Washington College sailing team completed its 2012-13 season Saturday with a 12th-place finish out of 15 teams at the Admiral's Cup, hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The regatta was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but favorable conditions on Saturday allowed for the completion of a full rotation of 15 races in each division in one day.

Washington missed qualifying for an ICSA Co-Ed Dinghy National First Round regatta by one spot; the top eight finishing teams received berths to nationals. Washington also placed second of 16 teams at the MAISA Spring Open, hosted by Merchant Marine, this weekend.

    The host Washington College sailing team posted a perfect 18-0 head-to-head record to win the seven-team Team Race Challenge held yesterday and today on the Chester River. The performance qualified Washington, along with second-place Cornell, for one of the final two spots at the Prosser Trophy, the MAISA Team Race Championships, to be hosted in two weeks by Hobart and William Smith.

Washington was also ninth of nine teams at the Top Nine Invitational, hosted by New York Maritime, this weekend. The seventh-place finish at the War Memorial qualified the team for the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championships, to be hosted by Merchant Marine in two weeks.
