Shoremen Improve to 3-0

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Washington College men's tennis team improved to 3-0 this season with a 5-4 win over Berry College today in Orlando, Fla. The Shoremen, ranked 20th in the Atlantic South region, won two out of the three doubles matches, which would prove to be the difference.

Washington College 5, Berry 4

- Chris Salisbury and Jake Sandler defeated Griffin Davis and Matthew Blakely, 8-5, at No. 1 for the Shoremen, while Jeremy Novick and Luke Weaver beat Jordan Crance and Daniel Alligood, 8-3, at No. 3.
- Berry (1-2) won at No. 2 as Ryan Miner and Chase Gooding were 8-1 winners against Zack Novick and Justin Panepinto.

- Salisbury cruised to a 6-3, 6-0, win at No. 1 against Blakely, while Sandler pulled out a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, win at No. 2. Sandler's win was the match-clinching fifth point.
- The Shoremen's other singles win came at No. 5, where Jeremy Novick got past Crane, 7-6(5), 6-2.
- Miner won against Zack Novick, 6-4, 2-6, 7-8, retired, at No. 3, Gooding beat Weaver, 6-2, 7-5, and Alligood defeated August Meriot, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, at No. 6 for Berry's three wins.
