CLAREMONT, Calif. — The Amherst College men's tennis team, ranked eighth in Division III and second in the Northeast region, opened its dual-meet schedule with a 9-0 non-conference win over Washington College in a match played today in Claremont, Calif. The Shoremen dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

Doubles
- Andrew Yaraghi and Anton Zykov defeated Ryland Byrd and Justin Panepinto, 8-2, at No. 1.
- Justin Sun and Ben Birkenfeld topped Garrett Boleslav and Jeremy Novick, 8-4, at No. 2.
- Jon Heidenberg and Sam Silver were 8-2 winners against Zack Novick and Matthew Katz at No. 3.

Singles
- Zykov defeated Byrd, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1.
- Yaraghi downed Jeremy Novick, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2.
- Sun blanked Boleslav, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3.
- Jesse Levitin bested Zack Novick, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4.
- Birkenfeld beat Luke Weaver, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5.
- Silver defeated John Niswander, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6.
