Bullets Defeat Shoremen, 3-0

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Gettysburg posted a 3-0 shutout over host Washington College in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game played tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Connor Fife almost put the Bullets ahead in the 10th minute, but his header went off the crossbar.
- Gavin Campbell made a pair of saves on back-to-back shots from Precious Ozoh and Fife at 16:43 and 16:45 respectively.
- James Strine took the only shot of the opening half for the Shoremen in the 29th minute, a shot from near midfield that went wide.
- Gettysburg took a 1-0 lead with 8:13 to go in the opening half when Oladayo Thomas collected a pass from Jonathan Molina on the right hand side of the 18 yard box, beat a defender with a quick move, and scored.
- Joe Mutscheller took the only shot on goal of the night for Washington with 21:37 to go, as his header off a free kick from Strine forced Gettysburg goalkeeper Thomas Keane into a quick one handed save.
- The Bullets pushed the lead to 2-0 with 19:40 to go when Ezekiel Omosanya headed home a free kick from Matt Midura.
- Jack Carroll gave Gettysburg a 3-0 lead and capped the scoring with 9:30 to go, collecting a deflection from a Shoremen defender in the box and scoring.

For the Shoremen (5-3 Overall, 0-1 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: None.
- Goalkeeper: Campbell (eight saves, three goals allowed, 90:00).
- The Shoremen held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks in the loss.

For Gettysburg (5-2 Overall, 1-0 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Thomas (one goal), Omosanya (one goal), Carroll (one goal), Molina (one assist), Midura (one assist).
- Goalkeeper: Keane (one save, zero goals allowed, 90:00).
- The Bullets held a commanding 18-5 advantage in shots in the win.

- Mutscheller was named the Goose Nation TV Shoremen Player Of The Game on the webcast of the game for the first time in his career.
