Ingersoll Named All-Sportsmanship
LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington College sophomore forward Kailyn Brandt (White Hall, Md./Hereford) and senior midfielder Olivia Auer (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) have been named All-Centennial Conference in a vote conducted by the conference's 11 field hockey head coaches. In addition, senior forward Clare Ingersoll (Chestertown, Md./Gunston School) is the team's representative on the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.
Brandt was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team for the second year in a row. She started all 18 games for the Shorewomen this season, leading the team in goals with nine, points with 19, and shots with 50. She is currently tied for sixth in the conference in goals, is tied for eighth in points, and is 10th in shots. Last year, when she was named the conference's Rookie of the Year, she became the first player in her team's history to earn first-team All-Centennial honors as a freshman. She is now the seventh to do so as a sophomore.
Auer was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team for the first all-conference honor of her career. She led the Shorewomen in assists with six, was second in shots with 35, and tied for second in points with 10 while also scoring two goals and making one defensive save. She also started all 18 games. She is currently tied for second in the conference in assists.
Ingersoll was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time in her career. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship for the All-Sportsmanship Team.
