    After completing a highly-successful season at the Dad Vail Regatta last Friday and Saturday, the Washington College men's rowing team has announced its captains for the 2019-20 season. Brook Yimer and Evan Koch will return as captains, while Sean Curry will join them. 
  • Full Selections, Heat Assignments Announced for NCAA Division III Rowing Championship

    The Washington College women's rowing team punched its ticket to its seventh consecutive NCAA Division III Championship when the Shorewomen won their seventh consecutive Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championship back on April 27th. The Shorewomen now know their full field of competitors and heat assignments at the event as the NCAA held its selection show for the championship Tuesday night.

    The Washington College women’s rowing competed at the Dad Vail Regatta yesterday and today on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia in the Shorewomen’s final competition before the NCAA Division III Championship. The Shorewomen’s second varsity eight finished second in the Division III varsity heavyweight eight, while the Shorewomen’s first varsity eight competed against crews from all three NCAA Divisions in the open varsity heavyweight eight.

    Washington College sophomore Ella Samer and freshman Alisha White have been named All-Centennial Conference in a vote conducted by the conference's 11 women's tennis head coaches. Samer was named to the second team for singles and joined White in picking up honorable mention in doubles. In addition, senior Hayley Sanchez was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.

  • Four Shoremen Lacrosse Players Earn All-Centennial Conference Honors

    Four Washington College players have been selected All-Centennial Conference for men’s lacrosse in a vote conducted by the conference’s nine head coaches.  Seniors, attackman Casey Grieves and defenseman Kevin Wilson and freshman Lawrence Park were named to the all-conference’s second team, while senior midfielder Trey Ritter earned honorable mention.  This is the second time that Grieves and Wilson have been named All-Centennial, while Park and Ritter are first time honorees.  Also announced by the conference was the All-Sportsmanship Team for men’s lacrosse and representing the Shoremen on the team is senior defenseman Cole Handy.
  • Five Shorewomen Laxers Garner All-Centennial Recognition

    Five Washington College women’s lacrosse student-athletes have earned 2019 All-Centennial Conference honors today following a vote by the conference’s 10 head coaches.  Senior attacker Cecily Docktor was named to the first team, senior midfielder Emily Pantazes, junior attacker Lauren Brenner and junior midfielder Aubrey Robinson were tabbed to the second team, while sophomore defender Catherine Keirn was selected honorable mention.  Docktor is now a three-time all-conference pick, while Emily Pantazes, Brenner, Robinson and Keirn are all first time recipients.  In addition, senior attacker Alison Pantazes represented the Shorewomen on the conference’s All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time in women’s lacrosse.

    #2 Gettysburg, the number two seed in the Centennial Conference Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, raced out to a 7-0 lead on its way to a 17-8 win over #24 Washington College, the tournament’s third seed, in the semifinal round of the tournament on Saturday afternoon on Tom Gilburg Field at Shadek Stadium on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College.  The Shorewomen fall to 12-6 and will await word on a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament tomorrow evening with the selection show beginning at 9:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.

    CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The host Washington College baseball team closed out a strong 2019 season with a 5-2 win over visiting Haverford in a Centennial Conference baseball game played today at Athey Park in Chestertown, Maryland. The win gives the Shoremen 28 wins this season, tying the 2012 team for the most wins in a single season in program history.

    The Washington College women’s rowing team won both the first and second varsity eights at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships to claim its seventh consecutive Mid-MARC Championship and seventh consecutive NCAA Division III Championship appearance today at Gifford Pinchot State Park. 
  • Washington Erupts for 16 Runs in 16-1 Game Two Win after Holding Off Ursinus in Opener, 6-4, for DH Sweep

    Visiting Washington College swept host Ursinus in a Centennial Conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Thomas Field in the season’s final two road contests for the Shoremen in 2019.  The Shoremen held off a bottom of the ninth inning rally by the Bears in game one to prevail 6-4 and exploded for 16 runs in a 16-1 second game triumph.  The game one win was head coach Cory Beddick’s 100th career victory.
