The coxswain and eight rowers of the Shorewomen's first varsity eight share this week's Shorewoman of the Week honor. The first varsity eight took first place at Saturday's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships, helping the Shorewomen win their third consecutive conference title and NCAA Championship berth.
The first varsity eight won its race in 7:04.5, more than four seconds in front of second-place Marietta. Senior Christie Phebus (Trappe, Md./Easton) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's first varsity eight. Senior Kelly Bird (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) sat stroke, freshman Jules Shipps (Baltimore, Md./Gunston School) was in the seven seat, senior Ashley Myles (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was in the six seat, senior Mickey Fili (Sparks, Md./Hereford) sat in the five seat, senior Taira Sullivan (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) was in the four seat, sophomore Madeleine Morrissette (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) sat in the three seat, senior Krystal Brostek (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) was in the two seat, and sophomore Hannah Sive (Glenville, N.Y./Niskayuna) was the bow.
