7, 2007 LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College senior Allison Daciek (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) and junior Lydia Bull (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Kent Place School) won the doubles championship at the Centennial Conference Invitational, hosted by Franklin & Marshall Friday, Saturday, and today. Daciek also advanced to the semifinals in singles. Daciek and Bull opened doubles play by besting Dickinson's Alex Bybel and Sarah Woodward, 8-3. They then blanked Haverford's Karen Lavi and Katherine Wettick, 8-0, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Daciek and Bull bested Bryn Mawr's Karen Ginsburg and Melissa Mansh, 8-4, and in the championship match, Daciek and Bull beat the Muhlenberg tandem of Carly Rotfeld and Jenn Powell, 9-8(1). Daciek opened singles play by defeating Bryn Mawr's Jalyn Porter, 6-0, 6-1. She then beat Caitie Drucker of Muhlenberg, 6-3, 6-7, 10-8, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Daciek lost to Brittany Matava of Johns Hopkins, 6-4, 6-2. Bull began singles with a 6-2, 6-1, loss to Rotfeld. She also dropped her consolation match to Wettick, 8-5. |
