Shorewomen Drop Owls, 7-2
Daciek Posts 6-0, 6-1 Win at No. 1 Singles

BRYN MAWR, PA -- Visiting Washington College defeated host Bryn Mawr College, 7-2, in a Centennial Conference women's tennis match this afternoon in Bryn Mawr, PA. The Shorewomen improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win, while the Owls fell to 3-10 and 0-4.

The Shorewomen won at two of the three doubles spots to take a 2-1 lead. Senior Allison Daciek (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) and junior Lydia Bull (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Kent Place School) posted an 8-3 win over April Lee and Melissa Mansh at No. 2, while junior Kate Barston (Darien, CT/Darien) and freshman Mary Kelley (Frederick, MD/Glenelg Country School) were 8-1 winners over Leah Raj and Marianne Leung at No. 3. Karen Ginsburg and Marie Sager posted an 8-2 win over sophomore Carrie Palmer (Dallas, TX/Greenhill School) and junior Rebecca Davis (Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) at No. 1 to account for the Owls' doubles win.

Daciek topped singles with a 6-0, 6-1, win over Ginsburg at No. 1, while Davis beat Mimi Nguyen, 7-6(5), 7-5, at No. 2. Palmer defeated Mansh, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 4 and Bull defeated Anna Dejdar, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 5. Kelley added a 6-3, 6-2, victory against Lee at No. 6. Sager accounted for Bryn Mawr's singles win with a 6-1, 6-2, win over Barston at No. 3.

The Shorewomen return to action Friday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at McDaniel.
