Daciek and Foster topped Erika Mitry and Jenny Rosler, 8-5, at No. 1, Hossick and Macht defeated Hannah Parsons and Anne Marie Kable, 8-2, at No. 2, and sophomore Lydia Bull (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Kent Place School) and freshman Carrie Palmer (Dallas, TX/Greenhill School) downed Kelly Fahrner and Rachel Iosue, 9-8(3), at No. 3. Junior Ryoko Sawada (Kushiro, Japan/Kushiro Koryo) added a 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 win over Iosue at No. 5. "This weekend was really good preparation for next weekend (and the Shorewomen's matches against nationally-ranked Washington and Lee and Division II Shepherd Saturday)," remarked head coach Constantine Ananiadis. "It was good to get a win. We knew we were getting better, but there's nothing like win to build confidence." The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with two road matches. They will play at Washington and Lee, the third-ranked team in Division III, at 9:00 a.m. and at Division II Shepherd at 3:30 p.m. |
