3, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Dickinson College won four of the six singles flights to defeat host Washington College, 5-4, in a Centennial Conference match this afternoon at the Lifetime Fitness Center. The Shorewomen slipped to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in Centennial Conference play with the loss. Washington won at the top two doubles spots. Seniors Ne'ko Browder (Bronx, NY/Herbert H. Lehman) and Linda Hooks (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) were 8-2 winners at No. 1, while senior Shoko Nakamura (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Jogakuin) and junior Samantha Halpin (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) posted an 8-6 win at No. 2. Browder and Nakamura won at the top two spots in singles for the Shorewomen. Browder improved to 10-0 at No. 1 this spring with a 6-2, 6-1 win, while Nakamura was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2. The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at 16th-ranked Swarthmore.
