WC Falls to No. 23 Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, VA -- The Washington College women's tennis team fell to host Mary Washington, the 23rd-ranked team in Division III, today by a 7-2 final. The Eagles are the sixth ranked team in the Atlantic South region, while the Shorewomen (8-3) are the ninth ranked team in the region.

Washington won one match in singles and one in doubles. Junior Shoko Nakamura (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Jogakuin) rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, (10-4) win at No. 2 singles, while senior Devon Hufnal (Dover, DE/Dover) and sophomore Samantha Halpin (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) were 8-2 winners at No. 2 doubles.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home match against Bryn Mawr.
