Shorewomen Edge Past Dickinson, 5-4
Nakamura Picks Up Match-Winning Point

CARLISLE, PA -- The 24th-ranked Washington College women's tennis team improved to 10-3 overall and 8-1 in the Centennial Conference with a narrow 5-4 victory at Dickinson this afternoon. Junior Shoko Nakamura (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Jogakuin) broke a 4-4 tie when she rallied to win 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

The Shorewomen won three other singles matches. Junior Ne'ko Browder (Bronx, NY/Herbert H. Lehman) also rallied at No. 1, winning 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Senior Devon Hufnal (Dover, DE/Dover) was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 3 and sophomore Samantha Halpin (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6.

Browder and Nakamura picked up the Shorewomen's only point in doubles with an 8-4 win at No. 1.

The Shorewomen play at Franklin & Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
