21, 2008 LANCASTER, PA - Host Franklin & Marshall College topped visiting Washington College, 114-74, in Centennial Conference women's swimming action tonight in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats improved to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in conference meets with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-2 and 1-2 with the loss. Sophomore Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) won a pair of individual events for the Shorewomen, taking the 200 butterfly in a WC season-best time of 2:11.16 and the 200 freestyle in 2:00.56. Glasser was also second in the 500 freestyle in 5:24.70. Freshman Kelly Dunbar (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.00. Freshman Mary Stroman (Bala Cynwyd, PA/Friends Central) was second in the 1000 freestyle in 11:22.94, while senior Kimber Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) finished second in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.43. Stroman and fellow freshmen Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville, VA/Albermarle), Laura Risell (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley), and Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) swam a WC season-best time of 3:56.12 in the 400 freestyle relay as the only non-exhibition entry. The Shorewomen return to action December 2nd with a 6:00 p.m. non-conference home meet against Widener.
