Shorewomen 5th at Orange Bowl Classic
Glasser, Gerhart Turn in Second-Place Finishes

KEY LARGO, FL - The Washington College women's swim team finished fifth of nine schools at the Orange Bowl Swim Classic this morning in Key Largo, FL. Division I schools George Mason and Boston College finished first and second, respectively, while Division II schools Minnesota State-Moorhead and California (PA) were third and fourth, respectively. Oberlin finished sixth, Vassar was seventh, Division I St. Peter's was eighth, and Division II Chestnut Hill finished ninth. The event was held outdoors in the 25-meter pool at the Jacobs Aquatic Center.

Freshman Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) finished second in the 400 freestyle in 4:44.59 and third in the 100 butterfly in 1:11.36. Sophomore Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) finished second in the 50 butterfly in 31.09, while senior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) finished third in the 100 freestyle in 1:02.11. Sophomore Liz Thomas (Towson, MD/Notre Dam Prep) added a seventh-place finish in the 50 breaststroke in 39.08.

Morse, Glasser, sophomore Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), and Gerhart were fourth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:57.16.

The Shorewomen return to action January 15th with a 5:00 p.m. home meet against Goucher.
