2007 KEY LARGO, FL - The Washington College women's swim team finished fifth of 10 schools at the Orange Bowl Swim Classic Saturday in Key Largo, FL. Schools from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III were represented at the meet. Washington's top finish came in the 200 freestyle relay, where freshman Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area), junior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul), freshman Liz Thomas (Towson, MD/Notre Dame Prep), and freshman Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) beat out 21 other relay teams to win the event. Senior Liz Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga), Thomas, Gerhart, and Morse were third of 22 in the 200 medley relay. Senior Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) added a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly, while Shoemaker was fourth in the 100 backstroke. The Shorewomen return to competition January 16th with a 5:00 p.m. meet at Goucher.
