F&M Tops Shorewomen
Morse Wins Two Events for Washington

LANCASTER, PA - The host Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team defeated visiting Washington College, 119-86, in a Centennial Conference meet tonight in Lancaster, PA. Junior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) led the Shorewomen (1-2, 0-2 Centennial) with a pair of individual first-place finishes.

Morse won the 200 freestyle (2:00.00) and the 100 freestyle (55.30). Freshman Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) finished second in both the 50 freestyle (25.83) and the 200 butterfly (2:16.78). Her time in the 200 butterfly made her WC's seventh-fastest swimmer ever in that event.

Senior Liz Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) added a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:15.15), while senior Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) was second in the 200 individual medley (2:21.53) and sophomore Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:39.00).

Individual third-place finishes were turned in by senior Erin Jones (Crofton, MD/Arundel) in the 1000 freestyle (11:36.09) and the 500 freestyle (5:40.93), freshman Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) in the 200 backstroke (2:19.33), and senior Kelsey Pont (Ellington, CT/Ellington) in the 200 breaststroke (2:44.95).

Gerhart, Liz Shoemaker, freshman Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), and Morse won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:44.43. Gerhart led off that relay with a 55.69 leg, making her WC's fifth-fastest swimmer ever in the 100 freestyle. Liz Shoemaker, freshman Liz Thomas (Towson, MD/Notre Dame Prep), Simons, and senior Caitlin Auger (McLean, VA/McLean) were second in the 400 medley relay in 4:17.01.

The Shorewomen return to action November 18th with a tri-meet at St. Mary's (MD) against the host Seahawks and Randolph-Macon.
