Diplomats Best Shorewomen
Morse Wins Pair of Individual Events

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Visiting Franklin & Marshall topped host Washington College, 133-72, in Centennial Conference women's swimming this afternoon at Casey Swim Center. The Diplomats, the defending Centennial Conference Champions, improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in conference meets, while the Shorewomen slipped to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in conference meets.

Sophomore Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) recorded a pair of individual first-place finishes for the Shorewomen, winning the 200 freestyle in 1:58.81 and the 100 freestyle in 54.93. Junior Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) won the 200 individual medley in 2:17.64.

Freshman Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) became Washington's fifth-fastest swimmer ever in the 200 breaststroke by finishing second in the event in 2:34.56 and finished third in the 200 individual medley in 2:25.70. Junior Erin Jones (Crofton, MD/Arundel) was third in the 1000 freestyle (11:32.68), junior Kimmy Kraeer (Denton, MD/North Caroline) was third in the 50 freestyle (26.12), junior Liz Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) finished third in the 200 backstroke (2:19.19), and freshman Brittany Siburt (Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) was third in the 200 butterfly (2:26.38).

Shoemaker, Cole, Simons, and Kraeer finished second in the 400 medley relay in 4:16.59 and Morse, Simons, Shoemaker, and Kraeer were second in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:49.18.

The Shorewomen return to action November 29th with a non-conference meet at Widener.
