21, 2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD - Visiting Dickinson College defeated host Washington College, 106-99, in a Centennial Conference women's swim meet this afternoon at Casey Swim Center. The Red Devils improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference with the win, while the Shorewomen, who got two individual first-place finishes each from sophomore Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) and junior Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley), slipped to 6-3 and 1-3. Morse won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.23 and the 100 freestyle in 54.61. Simons captured the 200 butterfly in a WC season-best time of 2:17.32 and the 200 individual medley in 2:20.08. Freshman Brittany Siburt (Stevensville, MD/Kent Island), junior Liz Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga), sophomore Nicole Ludwig (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan), junior Erin Jones (Crofton, MD/Arundel), and freshman Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) each recorded an individual second-place finish. Cole swam a WC season-best time of 2:32.32 to finish second in the 200 breaststroke and become Washington's fourth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Jones swam a WC season-best time of 11:23.30 to finish second in the 500 freestyle. Shoemaker's time of 2:13.99 in the 200 backstroke, which made her WC's fourth-fastest swimmer ever in that event, was also good for second place and a WC season-best time. Ludwig added a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:22.64), while Siburt was second in the 200 butterfly (2:22.13). Washington won both relay events in the meet in WC season-best times. Shoemaker, Ludwig, Simons, and junior Caitlin Auger (McLean, VA/McLean) won the 400 medley relay in 4:15.48, while Auger, Shoemaker, junior Kimmy Kraeer (Denton, MD/North Caroline), and Morse won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:44.96. Washington returns to action one week from today with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Ursinus.
