GETTYSBURG, PA - The Washington College women's swim team dropped its 2003-04 season opener against host Gettysburg, 130-75, in a Centennial Conference meet this afternoon. WC freshmen Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Erin Jones (Crofton, MD/Arundel) and senior Margaret Klag (Silver Spring, MD/Sherwood) each won one individual event.

Simons won the 50 freestyle in 25.85, becoming the Shorewomen's sixth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. She also swam a 56.69 in the 100 freestyle to become WC's seventh-fastest ever in that event.

Jones finished first in the 500 freestyle in 5:29.04, making her the school's 10th-fastest swimmer all-time in that event. Jones also swam an 11:10.49 in the 1,000 freestyle, good for second place and sixth all-time at WC.
