Shorewomen Fall to F&M
Sines, Vasquez Win Two Events Each

CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Washington College Shorewomen slipped to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in Centennial Conference competition with a 119-86 loss at Franklin & Marshall this afternoon. Seniors Stacy Sines (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant) and Pamela Vasquez (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/Delcampo Institute) each won two individual events for the Shorewomen.

Both of Sines's winning times were WC season-bests. She won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.30 and the 100 freestyle in 56.13. Vasquez finished first in the 500 freestyle in 5:27.89 and the 1000 freestyle in 11:08.81.

Senior Julie Meirs (Cream Ridge, NJ/Peddie) took second place in the 200 butterfly in 2:15.83, her fastest time this season in that event. Junior Margaret Klag (Silver Spring, MD/Sherwood) finished second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:31.33.

The Shorewomen finished second in both relays. In the 400 medley relay, sophomore Ana Prado (La Coruda, Spain/Tirso), Klag, Meirs, and Sines finished in 4:10.76. In the 400 freestyle relay, Prado, senior Sara Hardy (Birchrunville, PA/Owen J. Roberts), sophomore Emily Rawson (Derwood, MD/Montgomery), and Vasquez finished in 3:56.64.

The Shorewomen return to action at the ECAC Championships December 6-8 at Gloucester County Institute of Technology.
