2008 WESTMINSTER, MD -- Host McDaniel College scored all four goals in the second half to shut out visiting Washington College, 4-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon in Westminster, MD. The Green Terror improved to 5-10 overall and 2-6 in Centennial play with the win, while the loss dropped the Shorewomen to 1-14 and 0-8. Rachel McCallum scored at 60:12 to put the Green Terror on the board and Lisa Jurd followed with a goal off an assist from Brittany Baer at 61:22. Baer then tallied a goal of her own at 70:13 to make it 3-0. Brittany Fry finished off the scoring with a goal off an assist from Melanie Armstrong at 78:56. McDaniel held an 11-4 advantage in shots in the game and a 10-2 edge in corner kicks. Leanne Hollinger made one save in goal in the first half for the Green Terror, while Kristin Cochran made two saves in the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made three saves in the loss for the Shorewomen. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Bryn Mawr. |
