Gettysburg Downs Shorewomen, 4-0

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Gettysburg College scored on its first two shots of the game and went on to record a 4-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer victory over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Bullets improved to 4-5-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slid to 1-12 and 0-6 with the loss.

Gettysburg got on the board with two goals in the span of 51 seconds when Sam Hellerman scored off a pass ahead from Erin Miller at 6:23 and Jordan Smak scored off a Hellerman assist at 7:14.

Tara Gaston scored the Bullets' third goal off an assist from Bethany Taylor at 52:10 and Liz Curtin scored the fourth off a corner kick assist from Lauren Johnson at 75:12 to make it 4-0.

Danielle St. Pierre played the first 41:26 in goal for the Bullets and made two saves. Allie Rivera played the rest of the way and also made a pair of saves. Freshman goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made eight saves for the Shorewomen.

Gettysburg held a 20-7 advantage in shots in the game and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
