Mules Best Shorewomen, 5-0
Grier Makes 10 Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Muhlenberg College scored four times in the first half en route to a 5-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer victory over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Mules improved to 6-2-3 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 1-11 and 0-4 with the loss.

Muhlenberg got on the board at 6:49 when Christine Schaefer scored off a double assist from Ashley O'Grady and Kimberly Hacker. Hacker sent a cross into the box that was tipped by O'Grady and booted in by Schaefer. O'Grady made it 2-0 with a blast from 20 yards at 10:32. Jennifer Lynch scored the Mules' third goal of the game at 26:17 when she followed up a shot from Hacker that rang off the post. Rachael Goldstein made it 4-0 when she followed her own shot off the crossbar for a goal at 38:07.

Megan Francis scored the only goal of the second half for the Mules off an assist from Stacey Zimmer at 85:26.

Muhlenberg held a 26-4 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks in the game. Kate Morrissey made three saves for the Mules, while sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School, DE) made 10 stops for the Shorewomen.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Ursinus.
