17, 2007 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Haverford College topped host Washington College, 4-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Fords improved to 7-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 1-14 and 0-7 with the loss. Haverford opened the scoring when Erin Dowling booted in a loose ball at the 11:20 mark. Lauren Kibbe made it 2-0 with a breakaway goal off an assist from Ryan Hedrick at 12:55. Hedrick scored a goal of her own on a breakaway at 49:53 to push the lead to 3-0. Hedrick tallied her second goal of the game at 83:21 to account for Haverford's fourth goal. The Fords outshot the Shorewomen, 20-0, in the game and had all three of the game's corner kicks. Lindsay Festa played the first 67:54 in goal for the Fords, while. Kaleigh Herrick-Reynolds went the rest of the way. Sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School (DE)) made 10 saves for Washington. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against McDaniel. |
