Shorewomen Compete at Navy Day Regatta
"A" Boat Finishes 12th in Collegiate Four

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Washington College women's rowing team opened its fall regatta schedule this morning by entering three boats in the women's collegiate four. The Shorewomen's "A" boat led Washington with a 12th-place finish out of 18 boats.

Sophomore Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's "A" boat, which completed the course in 17:29.99. Senior Ericka Malow (Brunswick, OH/Brunswick) sat stroke, freshman Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) was in the three seat, sophomore Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) sat in the two seat, and senior Sarah Strickland (Potomac, MD/Holton-Arms) was the bow.

Senior Krista Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's "B" boat, which was 13th in 18:06.48. Senior Emily Hofler (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) sat stroke, senior Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) was in the three seat, junior Christine Lynch (Lincoln University, PA/Avon Grove) sat in the two seat, and sophomore Diane Hagmann (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) was the bow.

Freshman Victoria Smoter (Laurel, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's "C" boat, which finished 16th in 18:18.74. Senior Caroline Perry (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) sat stroke, sophomore Sarah Ruh (New Preston, CT/Kent School) was in the three seat, freshman Emily Robart (Hanover, PA/Hanover) sat in the two seat, and junior Robin Heese (Baltimore, MD/Maryvale Prep) was the bow.

The University of Pennsylvania took the top two spots in the race, with its "B" boat finishing in 16:01.11 and its "A" boat finishing in 16:04.47.

The Shorewomen return to action next weekend at the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA.
