April 28, 2008 YORK, PA -- Three members of the Washington College women's rowing team, currently ranked 14th in Division III, were named to the second annual All-Mid Atlantic Regional team at Saturday's Mid-Atlantic Division III Rowing Championships in York, PA. Sophomores Ericka Malow (Brunswick, OH/Brunswick) and Caroline Perry (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) earned varsity All-Region honors, while freshman Susanne Vaughn (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) earned freshman All-Region honors. Perry and Malow have been key members of the Shorewomen's varsity eight, which is currently the top-ranked boat in the Mid-Atlantic region and is in contention for the program's first-ever bid to the NCAA Division III Championships. The varsity eight is 18-4 overall and 13-0 against Division III varsity programs this spring. Perry sat stroke and Malow was in the seven seat as the Shorewomen won the varsity eight and the all-points trophy at the Mid-Atlantic Division III Rowing Championships Saturday. Vaughn served as coxswain of the winning boat in the varsity four at Saturday's regatta. The All-Mid Atlantic Regional teams were selected based upon nominations by the rowers' respective head coaches. |
