Shorewomen Shoot Past Garnet, 15-7
Parrish Scores Four Goals in Win

SWARTHMORE, PA -- Freshman attacker Kalli Parrish (Timonium, MD/McDonogh School) scored four goals and sophomore goalie Amber Madore (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) made 14 saves to lead visiting Washington College past host Swarthmore, 15-7, in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game tonight in Swarthmore, PA.

Swarthmore (9-7, 1-7 Centennial) held an early 2-1 lead before the Shorewomen (7-7, 2-6 Centennial) ran off four straight goals to take a 5-2 lead on a goal by Parrish with 15:10 remaining in the first half. Washington took a 7-4 advantage into halftime.

Washington opened the second-half scoring when senior midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) scored with 27:15 left to make it 8-4, but the Garnet got the goal back when Emily Evans answered with 21:44 to play. Parrish pushed the lead back to four goals with her third tally of the day with 18:02 on the clock. The Shorewomen's lead grew to 10-5 when Lambert found junior midfielder Allie Hanzsche (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) for a goal with 13:56 left. Washington quickly added two more goals as Parrish scored again with 13:22 remaining and senior attacker Suzie Jakub (University Park, MD/St. John's College, DC) fed Lambert for a goal with 12:45 remaining in the game to open up a 12-5 lead. Sophomore midfielder Liz Cumberpatch (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) tacked on the Shorewomen's 13th goal with 11:16 remaining.

Marie Mutryn scored a pair of late goals for Swarthmore to cut the lead back to six at 13-7 before a free-position goal by Jakub with 4:17 remaining and the first collegiate goal for freshman attacker Chelsea Vetick (Crownsville, MD/Old Mill) with 34 seconds to go provided the final margin.

Parrish was one of four Shorewomen to finish with multiple goals in the game. Lambert scored three goals and assisted on two others, while Jakub had two goals and an assist and sophomore attacker Sarah Cannon (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) scored two goals. Sophomore midfielder Sam Ohrem (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) added a goal and an assist, while Cumberpatch, Hanzsche, and Vetick each had a goal and freshman attacker Rachel Bartee (Mount Airy, MD/South Carroll) had an assist. Madore made 10 of her 14 saves in the first half.

Amy Vachal led the Garnet with four goals. Mutryn added two goals, while Evans scored one goal and Kelsey Hatzell recorded an assist.

Washington held a slim 28-27 advantage in shots in the game and a 15-9 advantage in draw controls.

The Shorewomen close out their season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Muhlenberg.
