2009 GETTYSBURG, PA -- Sixth-ranked host Gettysburg College raced out to a 12-1 halftime lead en route to a 16-3 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. The Bullets improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in Centennial play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-3 and 0-2 with the loss. Lexie Hearn scored four goals to lead the Bullet offense, while Marnie Commins scored one goal and handed out four assists. Nina Emala fired in three goals, Jessica Crane scored two goals and assisted on another, and Hollis Stahl scored two goals. Senior midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) scord two goals for the Shorewomen in the loss, while sophomore midfielder Sam Ohrem (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) scored one goal and sophomore attacker Sarah Cannon (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) notched one assist. Gettysburg held a 33-11 advantage in shots in the game. The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford. |
