Jakub Scores 100th Goal in Win
Shorewomen Handle Haverford, 20-10

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior attacker Suzie Jakub (University Park, MD/St. John's College, DC) scored her 100th career gal as host Washington College downed visiting Haverford, 20-10, in a Centennial Conference game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen (6-5 overall, 1-3 Centennial), who beat Wesley, 21-4, on Sunday, have now scored at least 20 goals in back-to-back games for the first time in team history.

Jakub's 100th career goal came on her second of the day when she scored off an assist from senior midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) with 19:45 remaining in the first half to make the score 6-0. She is the ninth player in school history to reach the mark.

Washington scored the first seven goals of the game and held an 11-5 lead at halftime. The Shorewomen led by as many as 11 goals during the second half.

WC junior midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) led all scorers with six goals and one assist, while Jakub totaled three goals and one assist and freshman attacker Sarah Cannon (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) scored three goals of her own. Senior attacker Megan Rainey (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding) scored two goals and recorded one assist, while freshman attacker Liz Cumberpatch (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) also scored two goals. Senior midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored once and handed out a game-best four assists. Freshman midfielder Page Allen (Annapolis, MD/Calverton School), junior midfielder Shiori Tachiwana (Sagamihara, Japan/Gaigo), and sophomore attacker Catherine Habel (Gaithersburg, MD/Watkins Mill) each scored one goal.

Lauren Finkel led Haverford (5-5, 1-3) with three goals and three assists. Casey Sanborn also scored three goals for the Fords, while Liz Koelmel and Sarah Morris each scored two.

Washington held a 34-26 advantage in shots in the game and controlled 19 of the game's 32 draws.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Muhlenberg.
