Nicholoff Makes Six Saves in Loss

GETTYSBURG, PA -- Host Gettysburg College got all the offense it needed on a rebound goal with less than six minutes to play as the 15th-ranked Bullets defeated visiting Washington College, 1-0, in a Centennial Conference field hockey game this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. The Bullets improved to 10-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 6-7 and 3-3 with the loss.

Gettysburg held 4-1 advantages in both shots and penalty corners in a scoreless first half. The Bullets finally broke through following their 12th penalty corner of the half when Molly Latta scored with 5:46 to play.

Gettysburg finished with a 17-2 advantage in penalty corners and a 13-4 advantage in shots in the game. Nicholoff made six saves in the loss, while sophomore defender Brittany Palasik (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding) made her team-leading fifth defensive save of the season.
