#4 Bears Best Shorewomen, 4-0
Nicholoff Makes Career-High 24 Saves

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Fourth-ranked Ursinus College topped host Washington College, 4-0, in a Centennial Conference field hockey game tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. Ursinus improved to 10-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 9-3 and 4-2 with the loss.

The Bears wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Jen Hooven scored off an assist from Jennie Moore 1:55 into the game. Hooven scored off another assist from Moore with 13:42 left in the opening half to make it 2-0 and then assisted on a goal by Alyssa Thren with 3:21 on the clock to give the Bears a 3-0 cushion at halftime.

Ursinus would not tack on its fourth goal until Katie Mastoris scored off an assist from Moore after time expired during a penalty corner.

Junior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made a career-high 24 saves in the loss for Washington, while senior defender Cora Jo Spare (North East, MD/North East) made three defensive saves for the Shorewomen. Erica Scott made two saves for the Bears, who held a 44-7 advantage in shots and an 18-5 edge in penalty corners.

The Shorewomen will host 15th-ranked Gettysburg in a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game Saturday.
