Spare Named Centennial
Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College senior defender Cora Jo Spare (North East, MD/North East) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending October 5th.

Spare, a fixture in Washington's starting line-up, played a key role in the Shorewomen's defense as Washington downed Swarthmore, 4-0, Tuesday and Goucher, 4-1, Thursday. The Shorewomen limited their opponents to 11 shots total between the two games as they improved to 8-1 for the first time in program history.
