Bullets Blank Shorewomen, 2-0
Nicholoff Makes 16 Saves in Loss for Washington

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Fifteenth-ranked Gettysburg College scored twice in the second half to post a 2-0 Centennial Conference field hockey victory over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Bullets improved to 9-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen dropped to 9-4 and 4-3 with the loss.

The Bullets got on the board with 22:52 remaining in the second half when Savannah Ruth knocked in a ball in front of the cage sent from Molly Latta. Ruth added an insurance goal with 13:46 to play.

Gettysburg held a 13-3 advantage in shots in a scoreless first half. The Bullets outshot the Shorewomen, 23-8, in the game and held a 15-8 edge in penalty corners.

Christina Anderson made five saves in the win for the Bullets, while junior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made 16 stops for the Shorewomen in the loss.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
