10, 2007 LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College sophomore goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending September 9th. Nicholoff made seven saves en route to her second straight shutout to open the season as the Shorewomen defeated Goucher Wednesday, 4-0. Nicholoff has yet to give up a goal in 140 minutes of action this season. The honor marks the second consecutive week a Washington field hockey player has been recognized by the Centennial Conference. Sophomore midfielder Kelly Tancredi (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) was named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week last week. |
