27, 2007 CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 4-1 Centennial Conference field hockey victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Carlisle, PA, in the season finale for both teams. The Red Devils finish at 8-9 overall and 4-6 in conference play, while the Shorewomen finish at 6-11 and 2-8. Megan Kelly put Dickinson on the board with a goal off an assist from Lizzie Boorse with 15:47 left in the first half. The Red Devils extended the lead to 2-0 when Kelly found Alyssa Sands for a goal with 4:14 left in the period. Kelly hooked up with Sands for another goal shortly thereafter, pushing the advantage to 3-0 with just two seconds to go before the intermission. Freshman attack Danielle Rosato (Narvon, PA/Pequa Valley) scored the Shorewomen's goal 1:33 into the second half. Leah Kaplan rounded out the scoring for Dickinson with an unassisted tally with 28:13 left in the game. Amanda West made seven saves for Dickinson, while sophomore goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made 14 stops for Washington. Freshman midfielder/defender Sarah Garber (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) had a defensive save in the loss for the Shorewomen. Dickinson held a 24-10 advantage in shots in the game and a 14-11 edge in penalty corners.
