Lattisaw would extend the lead to 55-50 when she scored on a layup, drew the foul and went to the charity stripe and hit her free throw to cap the traditional three-point play with 59 seconds to go. Junior forward Julie Sherwood (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Warde) canned two free throws to make it 55-52 with 47 ticks to go, but Abels nailed a layup with 27 seconds left to make it 57-52 and provide the final margin. The Fords jumped out to a quick 11-3 lead in the first half in the first 5:11 with Lattisaw capping it on a layup. The Shorewomen responded with six straight points to cut the lead to 11-9 with 13:24 to go in the opening half.
