Fords Trump Shorewomen, 69-64
Sally O'Donnell Scores Career-High 24 Points in Loss

HAVERFORD, PA – Host Haverford College used a 16-3 second-half run to secure a 69-64 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Washington College tonight in Haverford, PA. The Fords improved to 4-13 overall and 3-10 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 9-9 and 4-8 with the loss.

A pair of free throws by Washington freshman guard Meghan Tait (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) with two seconds left in the first half gave the Shorewomen a 32-27 lead at the intermission.

The Fords opened the second half on a 9-3 run to take a 36-35 lead on a Brittany Lattisaw lay-up with 17:03 on the clock, but Washington scored the next six points to regain the lead at 41-36 with 13:49 left. Washington opened up an 11-point lead following a basket by senior guard Brianne Slizofski (Collegeville, PA/St. Pius X) with 9:12 to go which made the score 51-40. The Fords then went on their 16-3 run to surge ahead, 56-53, on a pair of free throws by Lattisaw with 4:32 left.

Haverford held a 60-56 lead after Sara Cram made the first of two free throws with 1:48 on the clock. Cram missed her second free throw, but Natalie Richman got the rebound to keep possession with Haverford. Richman then converted a lay-up with 1:21 remaining and a pair of free throws with 58 seconds left to push the lead to eight points at 64-56. The Shorewomen hit a pair of three-pointers in the final minute, but could not get closer than four points as Haverford held on for the win.

Lattisaw scored 25 points for Haverford in the win and brought down seven rebounds. Richman tallied a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards, while Kathleen Abels scored nine points and dished out eight assists.

Freshman guard/forward Sally O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) scored a career-high 24 points in the loss for the Shorewomen. Slizofski added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Tait finished with 12 points and junior guard Jane O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) added 10.

The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Ursinus.
