Red Devils Top Shorewomen, 70-62
Jane O'Donnell Scores 19 Points in Loss for WC

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Visiting Dickinson College used a 15-0 run in the second half to post a 70-62 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory over host Washington College this afternoon in Cain Athletic Center. The Red Devils improved to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 8-4 and 3-3.

Washington scored five of the last six points of the first half to take a a 34-30 lead into the intermission on a three-pointer by junior guard Jessica Jamrogowicz (Marlton, NJ/Bishop Eustace) with six seconds remaining.

The Shorewomen had extended their lead to nine points at 47-38 with 12:45 left in the game when the Red Devils reeled off their 15 unanswered points, capped off by two free throws from Alesha Sisco with 5:44 on the clock which gave Dickinson a 53-47 advantage. The Red Devils led by at least three points the rest of the way.

Carole Dempsey led all players with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting at the free-throw line for Dickinson. She also pulled down a team-best six rebounds. Laura Lyons added 16 points, five assists, and four steals, while Brooke Muller tallied 12 points.

Junior guard Jane O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) paced the Shorewomen with 19 points. Jamrogowicz filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and seven steals. Freshman guard Meghan Tait (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) added 11 points for the Shorewomen, while senior guard Brianne Slizofski (Collegeville, PA/Pius X) finished with 10.

Dickinson shot 49% from the field in the game, including 58% in the second half.

The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Swarthmore.
