Directions to Washington College

Washington College is located in Chestertown in Kent County on Maryland's Eastern Shore - within two hours of Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. Approaching from the north, take US 301 South to the MD-291 exit. Turn left off the exit and then make the first right on the traffic circle to MD-291. Follow MD-291 12 miles and then turn left on MD-213 (Washington Avenue). Follow Washington Avenue to campus.

Approaching from the south, take US 301 North to the MD-213 North exit toward Centreville. Follow 213 19 miles to Chestertown, where 213 is also known as Washington Avenue. Follow Washington Avenue to campus.

Note: There are two primary entrances to Washington College - one along Campus Avenue and one into the main campus road further north. Ongoing construction on campus has temporarily interrupted the passage of traffic from one end of campus to the other (the "north gate"). Please see the venue-specific directions to determine which entrance best suits your needs.

Admission

Admission to all Washington College home athletic competitions is free. The only exceptions to this are NCAA postseason events for which the NCAA requires an admission charge.

Pets

NO PETS, other than service animals, are allowed inside Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium, Cain Athletic Center, Casey Swim Center, or the Lifetime Fitness Center. Pets are allowed at Athey Field, Schottland Tennis Center, the WC Softball Field, and Lelia Hynson Pavilion at the College's discretion. Please plan accordingly.

Directions to Playing Venues

Athey Field (Baseball) - Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Proceed to the second parking lot on your right. Athey Field is located at the back of the parking lot. The Western Shore dorms provide a scenic backdrop beyond the outfield fence.

Cain Athletic Center (Basketball & Volleyball) - Directions During Construction: Make a left (from the south) or a right (from the north) onto Campus Avenue. You will pass Toll Science Center on your right. Continue along Campus Avenue as the road turns to the left. Make a right into the campus. Find parking and continue on foot to Cain Athletic Center (on your left). Standard Directions: Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Follow the campus road until it takes you into a large parking lot behind Gibson Center/Tawes Theatre. Find parking and continue along the campus road on foot until you reach Cain Athletic Center, the second building on your right. Additional parking near Cain Athletic Center is located on the other side of the building.

Casey Swim Center (Swimming) - Directions During Construction: Make a left (from the south) or a right (from the north) onto Campus Avenue. You will pass Toll Science Center on your right. Continue along Campus Avenue as the road turns to the left. Make a right into the campus. Find parking and continue on foot to Casey Swim Center (on your left, past Cain Athletic Center). Standard Directions: Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Follow the campus road until it takes you into a large parking lot behind Gibson Center/Tawes Theatre. Casey Swim Center is at the south end of the parking lot.

Johnson Lifetime Fitness Center (Indoor Tennis) - Directions During Construction: Make a left (from the south) or a right (from the north) onto Campus Avenue. You will pass Toll Science Center on your right. Continue along Campus Avenue as the road turns to the left. Make a right into the campus. Find parking and continue on foot to the Lifetime Fitness Center (on your left, before Cain Athletic Center). . Standard Directions: Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Follow the campus road until it takes you past both Casey Swim Center and Cain Athletic Center (both on your right). The first building on your right beyond Cain Athletic Center is the Lifetime Fitness Center (LFC). Cain and the LFC are connected via a breezeway. A small parking lot is located immediately outside of the LFC; there is additional parking nearby along the campus road past the LFC.

Kibler Field/Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium (Field Hockey, Soccer, & Lacrosse) - Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Follow the campus road. Kibler Field/Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium will be on your right. There will be a parking lot adjacent to the stadium entrance on your right.

Schottland Tennis Center (Outdoor Tennis) - Enter the north gate of campus by taking a right from the north or a left from the south. Proceed to the second parking lot on your right. Drive through the parking lot and along the first-base side of Athey Field. Follow the road behind the Western Shore dorms (located beyond the Athey Field outfield). This road will empty out into a large parking lot. Schottland Tennis Center is located at the far end of the lot.

Truslow Boat House/Lelia Hynson Pavilion (Rowing & Sailing) - Follow the directions to Washington College (see above) until you are on 213 in Chestertown. In Chestertown, turn either left (from the south) or right (from the north) onto Cross Street. Follow Cross Street through downtown Chestertown until you see the entrance to Philip Wilmer Park on your left. Spectators should park in the park's lot. Lelia Hynson Pavilion is an outstanding facility for regatta spectators. Competing teams should continue just past the park to the driveway of Truslow Boathouse.

WC Softball Field (Softball) - After entering the campus through the north gate, follow the campus road until it takes you into a large parking lot behind Gibson Center/Tawes Theatre. Find parking and walk over Kudner Bridge (the footbridge at the back of the lot). The softball field will be directly in front of you.
