Marino Named Centennial Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

Earns Award For The Third Time

LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Marino (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for volleyball for the week of September 5-10 by the conference office.  This is the third time the junior has won the conference's weekly award.

Marino averaged 4.36 kills, 2.91 digs and 0.91 service aces in a 3-0 week for the Shorewomen as the team is off to their best start in 39 years. In a five-set win over Shenandoah on Saturday, she had career-bests of 24 kills, 20 digs and four aces as WC won six of the last seven points to turn a 14-11 deficit in the fifth set into a 17-15 win. She led all players in kills and aces and the team in digs. Against Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday in a three-set win she had match-highs of 14 kills and four blocks, which tied her career-high, and had a team-high three aces and added nine digs as she hit .333. On Tuesday in a three-set sweep at Goucher, she had 10 kills to lead all players and added three aces to lead the squad.

This is the third time Marino has won the conference's player of the week award as she won previously on September 6, 2016 and September 12, 2016.
