Three Shorewomen to Begin Spring Regionally-Ranked

SKILLMAN, NJ -- Three Washington College women's tennis players appear in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's Division III Preseason Atlantic South Regional Rankings. Freshman Amanda Bercovici (Hackensack, NJ/Bergen Tech) is ranked 12th in singles, while juniors Jordan Finnegan (Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) and Brittany Marshall (Dagsboro, DE/Worcester Prep) are ranked eighth in doubles.

Bercovici made an impressive collegiate debut at the ITA Southest Regionals in September.  She won three matches in championship singles before falling in the quarterfinals.

Finnegan and Marshall, who have earned All-Centennial Conference first-team honors as a doubles tandem each of the past two seasons, advanced to the quarterfinals in championship doubles at the ITA Southeast Regionals. They posted a 16-0 record in dual-match play at the No. 1 position last spring. In the final 2010 rankings, they were 22nd in the nation and sixth in the region in doubles.
